Fucidic Acid – PRESS RELEASE

SP Pharmaceuticals NV of Belgium (a sister company to generic developer Neogen NV) is pleased to announce the registration and approval in several EU markets of its generic Fusidic Acid 2% cream. This product is a consequence of a successful co-development arrangement between SP and Basic Pharma Technologies BV of the Netherlands. Available in 15g and 30g tubes Fusidic acid cream is an antibacterial which is used to treat skin infections.

Thomas Jacobsen, Managing Director of SP Pharmaceuticals commented;

“We are proud of this generic development, which based on extensive clinical studies have passed the strictest regulatory requirements in countries like UK, Netherlands, Poland, Belgium and Germany. Such clinical studies are generally regarded as a barrier to generic developers, but we are committed to differentiating our products in this way, thus providing our clients with added value not commonly obtainable from other generic developers.”

Current European market is around 30 million euro in value and unit volume sales are growing.

SP, has already secured a number of clients for this product within Europe but has an MA available for immediate transfer in Germany as well as an on-going registration in PT. Quick MAs can be obtained in other EU-markets.
