Tranexamic acid IV is used to reduce bleeding caused by general or local fibrinolysis, such as menorrhagia and metrorrhagia, bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract and bleeding associated with surgical interventions as e.g. tooth extraction, prostate surgery, urinary tract surgery, ear, nose and throat surgery, gynecological surgery, thoracic and abdominal surgery, heart and vascular surgery.
